Let’s walk through the new structure of the Revenue Talati exam, covering both Preliminary and Main stages, as per the official notification.
📘 Qualification for Revenue Talati
To be eligible for the post of Revenue Talati, candidates must:
Hold a Bachelor’s degree (Graduation) from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification.
Candidates in the final year/semester of their degree can also apply, provided they get qualified before the final selection.
Have basic knowledge of computer applications.
Possess adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.
🧾 Salary Structure of Revenue Talati
Pay Scale: ₹5200 – ₹20200
Grade Pay: ₹1900
As per 7th CPC Pay Matrix and government norms
⏱️ Exam Mode – Two Stage Process
The selection will be done in two stages, as per GPSC-style competitive exams:
✅ Stage 1: Preliminary Examination (MCQ Based)
This is a screening test for selecting candidates for the Main Exam.
✅ Stage 2: Main Examination (Descriptive)
The Main Exam will be used for final selection and consists of three papers.

- The Standard of Gujarati Paper shall be equivalent to Gujarati subjects (higher level) of the Twelfth standard of the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board.
- The Standard of English Paper shall be equivalent to English subjects (higher level) of the Twelfth standard of the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board.
- The course content of the syllabus for the General Studies Papers shall be as specified in Appendix – D.
- The detailed syllabus for each paper shall be as specified in Appendix – D.
- The Question Papers for the Main Examination shall be of the Descriptive Type.
- The candidates who belong to person with disability category may be allowed a Compensatory time of twenty minutes per hour for each hour paper as may be applicable.
